The issue of lifting the obstruction in the Parliament has taken a new turn as Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the Chairman of the main opposition party, Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), has been unsuccessful in reaching out to him for discussions. This has raised concerns about the continued disruption in the functioning of the Parliament.

During a meeting held at the parliamentary party office of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist–Leninist) in Baneshwor on Monday, Prime Minister Oli addressed the gathering, stating that regular parliamentary activities will resume from Tuesday onwards. He expressed his attempts to engage in dialogue with Prachanda but mentioned the lack of response from him. Oli emphasized that such behavior of avoiding discussions and shutting down the Parliament is not conducive and that the Parliament should not remain closed.

In response to recent events where groups have resorted to disruptive activities, causing obstructions in the Parliament, Prime Minister Oli expressed his disapproval, stating that such actions only hinder progress and are detrimental to democracy.

In light of the current situation, with the country at a crucial juncture, as the government presents the budget, Members of Parliament are urged to voice their opinions in a constructive manner. The Prime Minister directed the ministers to give importance to parliamentary activities.

Commenting on the situation, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the recent events, highlighting the need for continued development and effective governance. He pointed out that while progress has been made in various sectors, there is a risk of centralized attacks under the government’s leadership. Khatri emphasized the importance of working towards impactful development and governance for the betterment of the country.
