The National Independent Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) has initiated a signature campaign in support of their president, Ravi Lamichhane. In a move related to this campaign, the headquarters of a traffic constable who participated in the signature drive has been relocated in Nepalgunj.

Kamal Khadka, an active traffic constable in Nepalgunj, has been reassigned to a new duty station, as confirmed by Central Police Spokesperson DIG Vinod Ghimire. Khadka is reported to have been working outside his assigned responsibilities. “He has been relocated due to working outside his designated duties,” mentioned DIG Ghimire.

The signature campaign is being run by the Rastriya Swatantra Party against what they claim is political revenge against their president, Lamichhane. Just a few days ago, constable Khadka had participated in the campaign by signing in support. Following this, his photos became viral on social media platforms.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, believes that this incident underscores the intersection of politics and law enforcement in Nepal, highlighting the complexities that can arise when political affiliations influence professional duties.
