Yamaha Motor plans to join an international electric car race called “Formula E” starting in 2025, according to Yomiuri News. This will be the first time in about 25 years that Yamaha will compete in international car races. They want to show off their electric car technology to the world.

Yamaha will work with Lola Cars from the UK to develop the race cars. Yamaha will make the motors and other important parts for the cars.

This is the first time Yamaha will be in Formula E, which is like the electric car version of Formula 1. Right now, only Nissan from Japan is in Formula E, so Yamaha will be the second Japanese company to join.

Formula E cars are super-fast, going over 300 kilometers per hour. Yamaha wants to get better at making electric car parts by joining this race.

We don’t know yet which racing team Yamaha will help, but we’ll find out after the first Formula E event in Japan later this month.
